What the Evidence Shows
In a clinical study of knee osteoarthritis, patients who received Nirgundi leaf Patra Pinda Sweda for 21 days plus a herbal medicine were compared with those receiving the herbal medicine alone [1]. Related studies have used poultice therapy in low back pain [2]. The evidence for Patra Pinda Sweda itself is limited, and an independent review of osteoarthritis found no robust evidence for non-drug therapies such as massage and steam [3].
